Maybe, some people are just too unaware of identity theft coming from these kinds of social networking hence not quite selective when adding “friends”.

Maybe, some people like to socialize with varying different people hence the random adds and actually chat and get to know them.

various reasons, really.
but mostly yes, I think hundreds/thousands friends on someone’s social networking page comes from random adds with need to fill up the friends quota and ‘be famous’. It’s scary that way. People don’t even think the consequences letting strangers know your life and privacy like that.

It’s different from the time when I was in friendster which 50% of the list are strangers! oh, that scary! since I had a very bad experience in friendster, now I decide to be far more selective in choosing friends for my FB list.

Total friends I have now in FB is 127.They’re in touch with me till now. Seeing the total, it’s nothing comparing to my friends who almost reach 1000 on her list!? Amazing! but when I asked her whether she knows them well. She said yes! No wonder she’s working as Marketer hahaha

So far I love facebook since I can express my real feeling in a very “cueks” style on the status. Don’t care if people think my status Not so Penting but for me…letting friends know what I’m doin and get to know what they’re doing is fun and make me closer to each other..Really! friends are important but being famous through a social network is not my target ..not at all;-)

However, people with different purposes might add as many people as they can, so they can get more audience to communicate whatever they want to communicate.
