My Bali, My Life – Learn from mistakes project

Archive for May, 2009

I’m not in a good mood to write a good thing about Bali. Simply because these last few days have been the craziest situation I’ve ever experienced on the road :

- Saturday morning fatal motorbike accident in By Pass Jimbaran that caused 1 man died.
- Big busses from Java start to come and they are everywhere on the street bringing tourists to main tourism destinations and it’s not even a High Season yet! (oh how I miss Bali post-Nyepi Day).
- Traffic jam at 2 same spots all the time, every morning and afternoon during peak hours. That’s on Jalan By Pass, the intersection of Ngurah Rai Airport and at Kuta round about called Simpang Siur opposite Planet Hollywood/Duty Free Shop.
- Road construction along Sunset Road!

FMN iconKarma Kandara, Uluwatu-Bali. OK, what should I say about this most stunning luxury villa in Bali. All the prestigious hi-end printed and electronic media coverages have said enough about this spectacular place situated on the cliff  top of the Bukit Peninsula, southern of Bali. I was proud to be part of BALISTARZ-the finest event company in the island-team organizing the Grand Opening Party on March 2008, where Emmy & Golden Globe winning Hollywood actor, Jeremy Piven, from the hit series ‘Entourage’, international supermodel Kristy Hinze and GQ editor Grant Pierce were among over 500 VIP guests from Bali and beyond who joined in the festivities that carried on through the night to meet the dawn ! And the only event in Bali with Hannah, the gorgeous mermaid swimming across the ocean from Australia to Karma Kandara private beach to wow us and entertain us with her underwater moves !

  • A NIGHT AT BLOODY KUTA

Well, that’s what the aussie tourists always say. I don’t get it tough. Is somebody bleeding in Kuta? hmm…I’m not a big fan of Bali touristy place, but have to admit, Kuta Beach and its ambiance has its magic spell that attracts people all over the world to taste the ‘bloodyness’ of this tourist mecca. The beach, shops, Hard Rock Hotel landmark with the giant blue surf board (a must photo shot for most of local tourists, and I have one pic of myself! :p ), overly priced mini-marts along the road – the place where most young locals hang out with Bintang beers, watching non stop scene of people passing by, Kamasutera Club, halfway spot with another mini mart + cafe, and this horrific buiding claiming to be “the biggest Jakarta club to be built in Bali” in the corner of Melasti Road and Kuta Beach..Kuta..Kuta..Kuta..
